Cynthia studied Fine Arts and Communications at Eastern Michigan University but from an early age she loved the process of creativity and design with various mediums. Her earliest influences came from witnessing her parents passions (painting and interior decor.)
Currently in her quiet (yet music filled studio) she enjoys diving into a playfully deep feeling state of expression bringing her much joy and freedom. Her intention is to share her creations with the vibe of love and peace to Illuminate and communicate light and color to those that feel drawn. History of Dichroic Glass: The reflective property and process of dichroic glass means there’s a thin layer of metal oxides applied to the exterior of the glass giving off a mirror like irridencense. Some pieces may have a swirling effect, other a rainbow effect or a contrast of bold color, each magical in their own way. Each piece is fired in a kiln to a specific degree and program which brings out the refelctive properties. One example in nature that mimics the look of dichroic glass is that of a dragon fly wing.
Interesing fact: NASA used dichroic glass on the exterior of their ships. Vaporized metals are applied with electron beams creating the dichroic look. It’s applied it to the surfaces of the exterior (which is transparent to the human eye) and the coating is used to protect spacecraft from harmful radiation.
Ancient History…dichroic glass has been around since the time of the Roman Empire.
